Nonwoven bags come in a variety of materials, and different materials havedifferent characteristics and uses.
1. Polypropylene (PP) nonwoven bags
PP (polypropylene) is one of the most commonly used materials in theproduction of nonwoven bags. PP nonwoven bags have many advantages, such aslightness, durability, waterproofness, moisture resistance, and low cost. In daily life, they play a variety of roles such as shopping bags, grocery bags, handbags, gift bags, and has a wide range of application.
2. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) nonwoven bags
PET nonwoven bags have high strength and hardness, showing a more crispappearance and a strong 3D sense. Compared with PP materials, nonwoven bagsmade of PET are more wear-resistant, scratch-resistant, and have a longer service life. PET materials can also resist the erosion of some chemicals. In the medical andsanitary field, because of its property of anti-gamma rays, PET products can stillremain indeformable after gamma ray disinfection.
3. Recycled polyethylene terephthalate (RPET) nonwoven bags
RPET nonwoven bags are made of recycled PET materials which have highstrength and wear resistance. RPET materials are processed from discarded PETplastic bottles. They can be recycled and effectively reduce carbon dioxide emissions, saving nearly 80% of energy compared to producing polyester fibers. In addition, RPET yarns have passed Taiwan Environmental Protection Agency, international GRSglobal recycling standard certification, and the European Oeko-Tex Standard 100ecological environmental certification, and can be transparently circulated andtraced.
4. Polylactic acid (PLA) nonwoven bags
PLA nonwoven bags are 100% biodegradable materials derived from renewableresources such as corn starch. PLA nonwoven bags can be naturally decomposed inthe soil with minimal impact on the environment. In addition, PLA material is soft totouch, making it an ideal choice for high-end nonwoven bags. The cost will behigher accordingly.
With the global concern for environmental protection, the annual growth rate ofnonwoven bag market has reached 1.73%. Among them, PP and PET nonwoven bagsdominate the market due to their low cost. With consumers' growing environmentalawareness, market share of RPET and PLA nonwoven bags is gradually increasing. Inthe future, nonwoven bag industry is expected to develop in a more eco-friendlyway, and the application of PLA will become more and more extensive.
